Respect to anyone who produces events. I project managed the Langaro Fashion Show at the Horses for Causes Charity High Tea and suffered from dehydration for three days afterward. However, my clients and I owned the day.
The show was held last year at a fundraiser hosted by the Riverside Boutique Hotel, Hout Bay in support of Horses for Causes, a trust which benefits 12 South African NGO‘s. Themed A Touch of Pink, Duncan Pape styled a bevy of models in cocktail and smart casual attire stocked at the spa’s style boutique.
Looks included ladieswear by Cooper Street,Cream Clothing and Great Plains from the UK, luxury Italian brand Lui Jo, French brand le Temps des Cerises and Australian label Gordon Smith. Bandana bras are by Kidney Karen which I swear is an essential in every wardrobe.. Men wore le Temps des Cerises and Cape Town’s own ZeitGeist. We also injected a few pieces by SA Fashion Week runway star Ruff Tung which Langaro will be stocking later in January. All sunglasses were from the Ross and Brown 2018 Collection which I’ve previously reviewed HERE and HERE.
With makeup by Langaro owner Kirsty Da Costa and hair by stylist Gabriel Verryne, one would be forgiven for believing we’d done this before. In truth, it was only our second show proving that with a great team and models who have now become friends, fun and success is inevitable.
Langaro and I will be hosting another fashion show for Horses for Causes at Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday 10 February. Themed Bohemian Blue, the day promises VIP dining, glamour, fashion, music and exhilarating horse-racing. VIP Tickets are R700 in the Kenilworth Room, and R850 in the Peninsula Room. Click HERE for all information and ticket sales. If its anything like the high tea, I highly recommend you support this worthy cause.
Until then, visit the style boutique at Langaro Lifestyle Centre in Camps Bay for hair, nails, beauty, wellness, corporate hostings and fashion. Follow on Facebook, Twitter and their two Instagram accounts @langarowellness and @langarostyle. Its my favourite one stop luxury shop.
Here’s to a luxuriously stylish 2018 heavily peppered with rest and drinks breaks.
love & light
